The first album was NOT a flop. It was radio’s introduction to one of the great, sustaining groups in music industry history. It lead the way for the second album and beyond. It also lead you to Jim Gaines. Jim was your Geoff Emerick

Saddened to read about your loss. Prayers for his family and friends.

Excuse my ignorance but if your first album was the one with the song trouble in Paradise, that is a great album and I always thought it has been. Sorry to hear of his passing of course.

Huey,

My condolences to you and the Gaines family for the loss of Jim Gaines. I do recall Jim Gaines engineered the second breakthrough album "Sports", being the first breakthrough album was "Picture This", and the outcome was so impressive. On the Sports album, there was nothing but non stop fantastic song, which today leaves a everlasting mark and memory in the music world. Sports is a classic album and it still sounds good 41 years later( Time does fly fast!!). Again, Jim Gaines was one dynamic music engineer and he will be greatly missed. Rest in peace Jim, and Huey, no matter what happens, keep your chin up and stay strong. We are in this together until the end.
